My interest in portraiture began when I was very young. I continued to develop this passion by drawing and painting portraits. In 1996 I was fortunate enough to connect with Tony Ryder a contemporary realist master who became my mentor and teacher.

Tony Ryder is the author of The Artists Complete Guide To Figure Drawing 2000

From 1998 -2006 I studied with Tony Ryder, I attended various yearly workshops that he taught. In 2001 Tony encouraged me to establish Bay Area Classical Artist Guild. From 2001-2005 Tony taught at BACAG here in the San Francisco Bay Area. In late 2005, Tony encouraged me to open an art school where I could share the methods and techniques that I had learned. In 2006, I founded the Bay Area Classical Artist Atelier.
